Name: Clara Haji
Title: Deputy Head of Girls Section / Child Protection Officer

I first joined the Academy in 2008 as a Primary teacher where I taught several grades over the years, later becoming the Deputy Head of the Girls Section.
Before my post in the KFA, I was a teacher and IT coordinator for the Greenside Primary School as well as the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. I collaborated with the borough to develop and implement IT curricula and specific lessons for each grade level in schools across the borough. During my time there, I was sent on an assignment to Hong Kong to write a report for Ofsted about the application of IT in curricula taught to gifted and talented students. My time spent there was very enlightening and helped me appreciate ‘international-mindedness’ – a central concept in the IBO programme.
I was also involved in the conceptualisation, design and implementation of an online long-distance English course for Spanish civil servants, in collaboration with the Spanish general union of workers (UGT). I had to design and teach all the modules, templates and exercises. It was a very rewarding experience.
