The Prevent Strategy and Radicalisation
The Prevent Duty is about ensuring that appropriate support is available for individuals who may demonstrate vulnerabilities to radicalisation. This is an extension of the safeguarding process in the same way that schools help to safeguard young people from all other forms of harm.
All staff have undergone the WRAP (Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent) training and one staff member has attended Ealing’s ‘Prevent Train the Trainer’ session, to oversee and cascade in-school training.
The Academy provides opportunities for children to learn about the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs to help them develop and demonstrate skills and attitudes that will allow them to participate fully in and contribute positively to life in modern Britain.
The Academy is a member of the ARISE group (Anti Radicalisation In Schools for Ealing) and uses the Ealing toolkit to support good practice.
If you have any concerns about radicalisation or extremism, please contact one of the Safeguarding team or:
