The KFA MYP Personal Project Exhibition is coming up on Thursday, 1st of February, 2018, between 2:30pm till 6:30pm. This day, Grade 10 will commit to a four-hour time slot where they will share their work with their King Fahad Academy community.
The personal project is a significant body of work produced over an extended period. It is a product of Grade 10s’ own initiative and reflects their experience of the MYP. The personal project holds a very important place in the programme. It provides an excellent opportunity for Grade 10 to produce a truly creative piece of work of their choice and to demonstrate the skills they have learned in approaches to learning.
It has provided an opportunity for Grade 10 to select a topic or theme about which they are enthusiastic, and to show commitment to the completion of their own project. It is designed to assess their ability to organise and create.
Have you ever wanted to cook Japanese dishes? Do you have a secret passion to crochet? Do you want to help the homeless? Do you want to run a football tournament? This is Grade 10s’ chance! The personal project is Grade 10s’ project to do what they want to do, to show the skills they have developed over the years in their subjects and through approaches to learning, and to apply them to an area or topic on which they have decided.
The personal project holds a place of special importance in the MYP, and thus it is closely linked to the Global Contexts. Remember, Grade 10 have been working on this project for an extended period of time, and their grade for the personal project is as important as any subject grade, so it has been something they really want to do.
