The KFA opened its annual IB2 and GCSE Art exhibition on the 21st of May, 2012. Hundreds of students, teachers, parents, locals, and VIP’s from the board of Trustees, Saudi Aramco, and the Saudi Ministry of Education visited the gallery and met with the young artists. The exhibition included paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations.
The theme this year for their GCSE exams was ‘Extraordinary’ – the students were inspired from extraordinary people, places, fashion, and extraordinary situations such as poverty and hunger across the world. The students had to choose their own projects during their 2 year coursework. Through their art work, the students expressed their feelings and concerns about important issues such as poverty, war and peace, killing animals, racism, discrimination, speeding and car accidents.
