The Upper section of The King Fahad Academy caters for students aged from 11 to 18 years old. We have recently introduced National Curriculum while phasing out two International Baccalaureate programmes MYP and DP.
Students in grades 6 to 8 (11 to 13 year olds) are following the National Curriculum (Key stage 3). In grades 9 to 10 (14 to 16 year olds) are following the Middle Years Programme (MYP) which culminates in the summer of Grade 10 with students sitting formal on screen examinations as well as submitting portfolios of work in our practical subject areas.
The post 16 students who met the entry criteria for our Diploma Programme (DP) are following a two-year course offering a wide range of subjects, which the students choose from to create a tailored learning experience.
Next year will be the last MYP and DP cohort to graduate from the Academy as we introduce National Curriculum Key stages 4 (GCSE & BTEC) & 5 (A Levels & BTEC) courses.
Aside from the academic programmes in the school, we offer many enriching activities through after school clubs, assemblies, student council, Model UN, community events and charity work. We are committed to ensuring that students that leave our Academy are educated, confident, caring and tolerant young people who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
