The King Fahad Academy benefits significantly from the guidance of its Board of Trustees, with a wealth of international experience. The Board will give advice and guidance which will support the establishment of the King Fahad Academy's ethos and values. The Board of Trustees is an independent, non executive board, with a rich international experience in a wide range of areas including education, finance, and law. The Board works closely with the Academy to improve organizational performance practices, capabilities, and results.
HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Chairman of the Board of Trustees
HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland in January 2005 after having served as Saudi Ambassador to Italy and Malta from July 1995 to December 2004. HRH has, in addition, previously served as Minister Plenipotentiary and General Director for the Department of Inspection in the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs which he joined in February 1984. He was a Researcher in International Relations at the Royal Commission in Jubail and Yanbu , Saudi Arabia in 1981.
HRH Prince Mohammed was born in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia where he attended school. He received his BA from George Town University in the United States of America in 1981 and his Masters Degree from John F Kennedy, Harvard University in 1984.
During his time as Ambassador to Italy and Malta , HRH was also President of the Council of Administration for the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps. HRH is President of the Saudi British Society in London and President of the Harvard Alumni Association of Saudi Arabia.
Mr Abdullah Al-Shagrood
Mr Alshagroud is the Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London . He joined the diplomatic services in 1981 as an Attaché and served in Diplomatic Missions in Doha-Qatar, London-United Kingdom and Berlin-Germany.
Mr Abdullah Alshagrood was educated at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia and attained his BSc in Political Sciences from Weber State University in the United Stated of America.
Representing the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Alshagrood participated in the United Nations Sessions of 1985 and 1989. In addition, he was also involved in the Conference of Foreign Ministers of Islamic Countries in Riyadh 1989 and in the Islamic Summit in Doha in 2000.
Dr Ahmad Al-Dubayan
Dr Ahmad Al-Dubayan is the Director General of the Islamic Cultural Centre in London . He worked as Head of Research and Translation Unit at the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Jakarta from 1988 to 1990. Formerly, he was a lecturer in Arabic at University of Imam and University of Indonesia in Jakarta .
Dr Ahmad Al-Dubayan was awarded his Masters Degree in Arabic Philosophy and Linguistics by Imam University in Indonesia . In 1999, he completed his PhD at Ruhr University in Bochum ( Germany ) in Arabic Philosophy, Islamic and English Studies.
Dr Al-Dubayan's publications include: “Linguistical Study of Hunain Ibn Ishag's Published Translations” and “An Analytical Study of Kitab Rawdat Al-wildan fi Thabt Ibn Jindan,” which appeared in Islamic Quarterly, Vol.47, Issue 4. In addition, he gave a paper on “How to influence the Image of Islam in the West” at a conference in Morocco in 2005.
Dr Saud Al-Ammari
Dr Saud Al-Ammari is Minister
Plenipotentiary & Head of Legal Affairs at the Royal Embassy of
Saudi Arabia in London where he oversees legal affairs and represents
the Kingdom's legal interests in the UK and Ireland .
Dr
Al-Ammari was educated in Saudi Arabia and the United States where he
practised law for some years before returning to the Kingdom to work as
an in-house legal counsel with Saudi Aramco. From 1995-2003, he was
legal adviser to the Minister of Petroleum before becoming General
Counsel at the same Ministry and member of the Kingdom's delegation to
OPEC. During this period, he was a member of the Kingdom's Negotiating
Team, formed for the implementation of the Kingdom's Natural Gas
Initiative, Chairman of OPEC Legal Defense Team, member of the WTO
Energy Services Team at the Ministry of Petroleum and Legal Counsel and
member of the Kingdom's WTO Accession delegation. In addition, he
represented the Kingdom in several significant legal proceedings in the
U.S. and the U.K. Between July 2003 to March 2006, he was General
Attorney for Saudi Aramco.
Dr Al-Ammari has a BA in
International Relations from the American University in Washington DC ,
a JD from South Texas College of Law, and an LL.M. from Harvard Law
School .
In 2001, Dr Al Ammari was awarded King Abdulaziz Award (First Order) for Achievements and National Contributions.
Dr Fawzi Bukhari
Dr Fawzi Bukhari is the Deputy Cultural Attaché and Director of Academic Affairs at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in London, United Kingdom. Dr Bukhari has formerly served as a consultant for the Central Department of Statistics in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor at the College of Science, King Saud University.
Dr Bukhari has a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, a Masters degree in Operations Research/Statistics from Michigan State University, and a PhD in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
Professor Mohammad Abdel Haleem
Professor Haleem is the Founding Director of the Centre of Islamic Studies at SOAS, University of London. He moved to the School of Oriental and African Studies as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Arabic. In 1995, he was appointed Professor of Islamic Studies in London University. In addition, he was a Lecturer in Arabic at the Faculty of Oriental Studies in Cambridge.
Professor Haleem grew up in an Egyptian village where he learned the Qur'an by heart. He had his Primary and Secondary education in Al-Azhar School. Then he attended the University of Cairo where he obtained a BA in Arabic and Islamic Studies. He obtained his PhD from Cambridge.
Professor Haleem is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Qur'anic Studies (published by Edinburgh University Press). He is an active participant in the Building Bridges Programme and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Foundation for Inter-Religious/Inter-Cultural Research/Dialogue, University of Geneva.
