History of the Academy PDF Print E-mail

The King Fahad Academy was founded in September 1985 with the objective of providing schooling of the highest standards, equally acceptable to both Saudi and British Authorities for the children of Saudi Diplomats, Arab Muslims and the local community in London. At its inception, the Academy provided a comprehensive education from kindergarten to university entrance.

The Academy is constituted as an educational trust by command of the late King Fahad Bin Abd Al-Aziz Al-Saud, with funding at source from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is registered as a charity with the British Charity Commission.

The King Fahad Academy is guided by a Board of Trustees which is chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abd Al-Aziz, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Court of St. James. The Board members have a wealth of international and UK experience in a wide range of areas including education, finance, and law. The Board works closely with the Chairman to support and develop the Academy.

The Academy consists of a Girls School and a Boys School with an overall student body of 500 students aged 3-18. We provide a bilingual Islamic-based international education to students. Furthermore, we believe that each student has a unique experience which must be taken into consideration during the teaching process, and we are committed to helping each and every child realize their full potential and become responsible and productive citizens who are able to appreciate the multicultural society in which we live.

We offer a curriculum that incorporates internationally recognized educational practices and we have established high standards and benchmarks for academic achievement and performance. We aim to employ our skills and expertise to develop our students intellectually, emotionally and spiritually through a challenging, balanced curriculum.

At The King Fahad Academy, the collaborative effort of parents, administrators, teachers and students is of paramount importance for creating a professional learning community. With 35 different nationalities represented in our Academy, there is a unique opportunity to develop intercultural awareness and appreciation for the philosophies and way of life of people from different cultures.
